This is such a busy time of year.
As parents, we have much to do at this time of year, and we’re here to remind you that the shopping for meals and gifts that are already on your radar can all be accomplished while supporting Colorado Academy.
Whether you are new to the CA community or a long-time member, we hope you are well aware of the grocery card program through King Soopers and Safeway. But I’d like to draw your attention specifically to King Soopers Community Rewards program that links your SooperCard to an organization of your choice (CA!) and gives the school 5% of all purchases you make using that card. It’s that simple—sign up and forget—but the CA Parent Association will continue to raise funds that directly benefit your students.
In addition, you can purchase gift cards to all your favorite places through CA, and a percentage of the proceeds will go back to the school. Gift cards to hundreds of retailers, restaurants, and more are available. Whether you plan to give gift cards or use gift cards this holiday season, CA will benefit! To purchase, please follow these simple steps:
- Email Kendall Slutzky your gift card order by Tuesday, December 3. Please be sure to include the type of gift card, value, and quantity.
- Drop off/mail payment to Kristin Hume in the CA Business Office, located in the Welborn House.
- Pick up gift cards at the CA Bookstore by Friday, December 13.
You can also purchase popular gift cards at the Holiday Mart on Thursday, November 21.
Kendall Slutzky, alumna and current parent, has been leading the charge for the last four years. Under her leadership, and with your help, we’ve been able to raise around $20,000 each year from this program alone. But due to recent program changes, we need to continue to raise awareness about the importance of this program to ensure the funds continue.
The results from all PA fundraisers are voted on each spring and given back to the school. Some of the most recent gifting items have been a water bottle filling station, robotics kits, and 3D printers for the Middle School Innovation lab—all resulting from the funds raised by the PA.
