On November 1, Colorado Academy held its second annual CA Gives Day in support of The CA Fund, and the day exceeded all expectations.
As part of Gives Day, two Lower School families issued a generous challenge: if 250 donors made a gift or pledge, these two families would give $45,000 to The CA Fund. The CA community responded with unprecedented enthusiasm. Overall, 453 parents, alumni, current CA Seniors, grandparents, parents of alumni, current and former faculty and staff, and friends participated, committing $587,000 in support of The CA Fund. For the fourteenth year in a row, 100 percent of faculty and staff made a contribution to The CA Fund.
“What an amazing success!” says CA alumna and Director of The CA Fund, Natalie Ralston ’99. “The dollars we raise for The CA Fund have an immediate impact on the lives of CA students, and I am so proud of our incredibly generous community. Many thanks to everyone who participated in CA Gives Day!”
One of the parents who issued the $45,000 challenge noted, “I’m just excited so many parents jumped on the bandwagon to contribute. I’m sure they have the same gratification I do knowing the money will be well spent for the betterment of the school, which ultimately leads to raising well-rounded kids.”
Parent participation is critical to the success of The CA Fund. This year, parent participation increased from 22 percent before Gives Day to 55 percent at the end of the Gives Day drive, with Kindergarten parents leading at 82 percent participation. The goal of The CA Fund is to achieve 100 percent parent participation, so every gift, no matter the size, truly makes a difference.
CA’s fiscal year runs until June 30, 2019, so there’s still time to support The CA Fund, if you have not done so yet.
