In a record-breaking year for the number of Colorado Academy seniors committing to play post-high school sports, CA coaches, teachers, and parents gathered today to honor student-athletes from the Class of 2018.
“The dedication of these students in their academic and athletic endeavors is deserving of recognition, says Head of School Dr. Mike Davis, as he congratulated the students and their families. “We are proud of what they have accomplished here at CA, and we are excited for the opportunities that lie ahead of them.”
Students who have committed to play college sports are:
Alex Archie will play lacrosse at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn. (DIII); Larson Baker will play soccer at Colorado College in Colorado Springs (DIII); Ellie Bauer will play field hockey for Bates College (DIII) in Lewiston, Maine; Camryn Beall will play soccer for Trinity University (DIII) in San Antonio, Texas; Quinn Birmingham will play tennis at St. Lawrence University (DIII) in Canton, N.Y.; Brooks Brown will play lacrosse at Colorado College (DIII); Greg Cain will row for Harvard University (DI), in Cambridge, Mass.; Chad Dines will play DI football for the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, R.I.
Oliver Kendall will play soccer at Kenyon College (DIII) in Gambier, Ohio; Thomas Messner will play DI golf for the US Military Academy at West Point in West Point, N.Y.; Jill Murphy will play field hockey at the College of William & Mary (DI) in Williamsburg, Va; Anna Ponzio will play soccer and run track for Pomona-Pitzer College (DIII) in Claremont, Calif.; Nicholas Pulido will play tennis at the University of Puget Sound (DIII) in Tacoma, Wash.; Piper Robinson will row for Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y.
Lauren Russell will play lacrosse at the College of William and Mary (DI) in Williamsburg, Va; Gemma Ryu will play rugby at Brown University (DI) in Providence, R.I.; Jordan Wagner will play tennis for Chapman University (DIII) in Orange, Calif.; Mitchell Walters will play soccer at Bentley University (DII) in Waltham, Mass.; Connor Wharton will play soccer for Washington & Lee University (DIII) in Lexington, Va; and Anne Younger will swim for Tufts University (DIII) in Medford, Mass.
Additionally, two students have chosen to play a post-graduate year of sports at Phillips Andover in Andover, Mass. Tyler Little will play ice hockey and Sam Richards will play baseball.
