The National Mock Trial Competition is now underway (May 11-13) in Hartford, CT. CA’s team is taking part in four rounds today and tomorrow. The team arrived in Hartford two days ago to continue intense preparations. In a scrimmage, CA students squared off against Connecticut Wednesday and Idaho Thursday. Faculty sponsor Luis Terrazas says, “both were formidable opponents. Students used these opportunities to test the strategies they developed over the past five weeks.”
Denver District Court Judge John Madden presided over this Thursday’s round and then provided feedback to CA’s team, helping them refine their presentations and sharpen arguments.
All 44 teams from across the U.S. enjoyed a formal introduction at the Dunkin’ Donuts Field—home of the Hartford Yard Goats, the AA farm team for the Colorado Rockies. The manager, Jerry Weinstein, had his picture taken with Colorado Academy’s team.
