For the second consecutive year, Colorado Academy’s Varsity Girls Golf Team has taken the 3A State Championship. Two girls on the four-member team also took individual places among the top five including junior Caroline Jordaan, who placed second for the second consecutive year and her sister sophomore Marie Jordaan, who placed fifth. Freshman Sage Phelps-Fast placed 29th and senior Jill Murphy placed 63rd. The players finished the final round of the tournament Tuesday after two days of finals at Elmwood Golf Course in Pueblo.
This is the third consecutive year that CA’s Varsity Girls Golf Team has taken the team championship at the CHSAA State Tournament. In 2016 they took the title in 4A and have taken the 3A title in both 2017 and 2018.
The team is coached by Beth Folsom, long-time Colorado Academy’s Girls and Boys Golf Coach, who will soon be inducted into the Metro League Hall of Fame.
