Cooled by hundreds of popsicles and gallons of cold water, Colorado Academy Lower School students threw themselves into their annual Field Day with unbridled enthusiasm. Despite temperatures that reached well into the nineties, students bounced, hurdled, and raced through multiple sports challenges and left with dozens of ribbons to show for their effort. Eighth graders ran the many competitive stations smoothly. Everyone also enjoyed face painting, creative balloon art, a giant bouncy slide, dancing to a DJ, a great barbecue lunch, and cool splashes in the dunk tank.
The day started with an All-School Assembly, at which students thanked the faculty for a great 2017-18 school year, and the yearbook staff honored Assistant Athletic Director Jon Hill by dedicating this year’s CA yearbook to him.
In the annual running of the Kindergartners vs. Head of School race, Dr. Mike Davis started strong but faded before the finish line and was overrun by triumphant 6-year-olds.
