Never has a graduating class at Colorado Academy needed more care and support than the Class of 2020. Instead of going off to their college campuses this fall, at least one-half remained at home, taking their first semester studies online, or electing to take a Gap Year. The annual tradition of sending first-year CA graduates a Care Package had to continue, despite all the uncertainty. In addition, pandemic safety protocols also meant that parents of the Class of 2020 were unable to come to the CA campus to help the Alumni Association stuff the Care Packages. They were disappointed.
While some boxes were mailed as usual to college campuses for lucky 2020 alumni, many were mailed home. Some will be mailed during the spring semester, or even in the fall of 2021, depending upon each graduate’s circumstances.
Most alumni also received a card from their Kindergarten Buddies, now in First Grade. The cards were not only colorful and cheerful, the messages inside were lovely and touching. One Buddy signed off, “Be safe, be kind, and wear a mask!” Words of wisdom for us all!
The Alumni Association thanks CA’s Food Service staff for helping to assemble the Class of 2020 Care Packages this year.
