Don’t miss Colorado Academy’s baseball home opener on March 12, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. – the first game at CA’s renovated baseball facility. The home opener will include a ceremonial first pitch, concessions, and souvenirs for the crowd. CA worked throughout the winter to level and re-sod the infield, grade the outfield, build new dugouts and a warning track, and improve the fence. Thanks to the generosity of several CA families, the school was able to raise the needed funds and complete the project in time for the 2014 season. New CA baseball coach, JT Putt, who has been putting the 26-member (JV and Varsity) squads through practice at an indoor sports training facility in Golden, says he and the players are excited about the new field. Putt says the new, top-notch space will “make the players’ experience that much more enjoyable and beneficial.” “They are a great group,” says Putt. “We have a good combination of eager freshmen and a core group of upper classmen, as well.” The schedule includes 19 games, half of which will be played at CA. “The dedication to this project shown by key CA families, staff, and administrators is terrific,” says Director of Athletics Bill Hall. “I am grateful for their vision and generosity.”
