CA's Mock Trial "A" Team is headed to the State Tournament

CA sends two Mock Trial teams to 2020 State Tournament

All three Colorado Academy Mock Trial teams delivered commanding performances at the Denver Regional Tournament this past weekend, where A and B teams swept the tournament. Both will represent CA at the State Tournament in Golden on March 13 and 14.

CA’s Mock Trial “B” Team is also headed to the State Tournament

Colorado Academy’s A team won all four rounds, earning well-deserved praise from judges and coaches. In the fourth and final round, B and C teams squared off for second place in a tense match that tested their outstanding talents.

After the winners were announced, Coach Andres Guevara noted, “I have never seen students as excited and energized as this year’s group. I could not be more proud of their accomplishments.”

As in years past, CA students earned special recognition for their individual performances.

Best Attorney award recipients: Senior Kayleigh Milligan (second year in a row), Junior Czarina Yuffa, and Sophomore Bo Turnage.

Best Witness ward recipients: Seniors Avery Lin and Patrick Schmid (both second year in a row), Junior Chloe Brants, and Sophomore Abigail Shapiro.

Special thanks go out to our six mock trial coaches, without whom we do not have a program: Mark Grueskin, Maribeth Younger, Doug Beck, Andres Guevara, Elizabeth Wylie, and Michael MacPhail.

Congratulations to all participants on their impressive performances!
