Art allows us to feel joy, challenges us to see, hear, and feel in new ways, and connects us to one another. It has not been an easy year. The Visual Arts Department is planning a special day to celebrate the artist in all of us—a time to practice joy and to make and believe together as a community.
The Colorado Academy All-School Art Festival is just around the corner. It will look a little different this year, because it will take place during the school day on April 26, 2021. The festival be a fun-filled, all-day event for students, faculty, and staff to celebrate the making of art.
A special schedule will give everyone an opportunity to come together and make art as a community. Participants will visit various interactive art-making stations, set up on Stamper Commons.
Workshops will include: painting with our special guest artist, Michael Gadlin; steam roller printmaking; spin art; soap felting; finger puppet-making; coil pots; pendulum painting; a doodle challenge; music; and so much more!
Due to COVID-19, we will not be able to invite visitors onto campus as we have in past years, but for the students, this day will not disappoint! We will livestream each art-making station, for all of our community to tune in.
If parents are interested in helping to prepare materials for the event, please contact the All-School Art Festival parent volunteer chairs, Amy Martin or Bethany Glesser.
