Interim at Colorado Academy provides opportunities to get out of the classroom to learn by doing, through exposure to new ideas, experiences, and environments. Interim trips span the gamut from artistic pursuits and community engagement to wilderness expeditions. Immersion in a unifying trip concept broadens students’ skills, knowledge, and awareness.
All 2025 CA Middle School Interims take place Monday, May 12-Friday, May 16.
INTERIM GOALS
- To practice physical and emotional resilience
- To cultivate student agency through trip planning and leadership
- To practice community values and service to others
- To learn via exploration and personal initiative
- To collaborate and problem-solve
INTERIM FORMS & WAIVERS
Interim choices will be introduced to Middle School students by the trip leaders during a Town Hall on March 13, and students should submit their ranked choices in advisory a week later, on March 19, after consultation with their families.
Registration Forms: Once families have reviewed the trip options and had a discussion about which trips would be a good fit, students will complete their registration during advisory on March 19. Each student should put their choices in order from 1 to 14, and each student will be required to sign at the bottom of the registration that they have reviewed the trip options with their families.
Interim Waivers: Some Interim trips will require parents to sign an additional CA Waiver; those waivers will be sent to families via email.
At this time, we do not need any of the trip-specific waivers signed. We will collect those after Interim placements have been completed.
