Interim at Colorado Academy provides opportunities to get out of the classroom to learn by doing, through exposure to new ideas, experiences, and environments. Interim trips span the gamut from artistic pursuits and community engagement to wilderness expeditions. Immersion in a unifying trip concept broadens students’ skills, knowledge, and awareness.
Amazing Race: Denver

Students traveled back in time through the history of the Rocky Mountains as they explored hiking trails and geologic formations at Colorado National Monument. View photos.
Cedar Mesa Backpacking
Participants explored the beautiful canyons of Utah’s Cedar Mesa, investigating well-preserved Native American archaeological sites and even stopping by Glenwood Springs for a dip. View photos.

At the Audubon Nature Center at Chatfield State Park, students earned Junior Naturalist certification and gained expertise in topics like survival skills, aquatic invertebrate identification, bird rehabilitation, and water conservation. View photos.

Participants traveled to the Cosmosphere space training center in Hutchinson, Kansas, where they worked to complete a simulated space mission by launching high-powered rockets, creating programs to send a coded message, or producing a mission press conference.
Wild Ride in Moab
