Back on campus after a three-year pandemic absence, alumni representing the Classes of 2019 through 2022 joined faculty, coaches, and current students in the Campus Center for lunch on January 5, 2023. Stories from college, extracurricular activities, and Winter Break soon brought back the familiar CA community camaraderie. Faculty were interested in what academic courses were being pursued and how each was succeeding. Athletics provided another discussion theme, from a torn Achilles tendon (Caroline Ungar ’22) to being a walk-on to the track team as a javelin thrower (Henry Lewinsohn ’20). Future plans were revealed, including Casey Myers ’22 joining the orchestra, Makayla Sileo ’19 applying to grad school, and Brian Labra Vergara ’20 studying in London for the spring semester.
Alumni freely joined the lunch line and had the chutzpah to “crash” the faculty tables; of course, the teachers were delighted. Returning alumni reiterated high praise for CA’s dining choices. Few colleges can compete with Chef Paul and his staff at Café CA. Faculty, coaches, and students all expressed the same sentiment, “It’s so great to see recent graduates!”
