Lower School
The first day of school at Colorado Academy Lower School ran like clockwork, with parents waiting patiently in the drop-off line and students greeted by many teachers in the Lower School circle.
Sporting a variety of colorful masks, Lower School students marched or were guided to their destinations. Most had already visited their new classrooms and met their teachers before the All-School Picnic.
Once they arrived, students found masked teachers with smiling eyes and welcoming words. For many students, the memories of last year’s first days of school, which took place on Zoom, were just a distant memory, replaced by the joy of returning in person for a new year filled with fresh opportunities, lots of fun, and—as every Lower Schooler will tell you—new playgrounds!

Middle School
In his September blog, Colorado Academy Middle School Principal Bill Wolf-Tinsman wrote “School is a place of intentional and unintentional growth for young people, the crucible that molds our students into the strong and resilient young adults they are soon to become.”
That growth began on the first day of classes, as CA Middle Schoolers found their classrooms and met their teachers.
Seventh and Eighth Graders started developing new interests and friends, and Sixth Graders began discovering the difference between being in Lower School and Middle School.
