With extra time at home, it is easy to become oversaturated with information coming at us through our screens. This week, the Colorado Academy Visual & Performing Arts teachers shared with one another what exciting art and culture they have found online.
Knowing how we can’t live without art, many institutions are opening their virtual doors for free, to help us still connect with one another and the creative expression we all cherish so much.
Here are our favorites from this week!
Visual Arts
The National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., includes a great iPad app for kids.
Colossal, known as “The Tate Modern of the Internet,” is an excellent resource for contemporary art, design, crafts, and photography.
Music
Each week, the Metropolitan Opera features a different composer (this week it’s Wagner), and each day they feature a different opera from that composer.
The Rocky Mountain Virtual Music Festival is a great way to support our local musicians and see live music.
Theater
You can stream your favorite Broadway shows, free for a week.
Watch Shrek the Musical on Netflix. You’ll feel like you are practically onstage.
Dance
All Arts is a free, multi-platform portal for the arts, accessible to everyone, everywhere.
