A new decade calls for a new website! Colorado Academy is excited to debut its redesigned website, which features a clean, vibrant, modern design that showcases the school for 2020 and beyond. Note that your secure content including academic assignments, student schedules and grades, resource boards, are not impacted by this redesign and will still be found by logging into your CA account.
CA’s previous website was launched in 2013, and it served the school well for the past seven years. However, as technology continues to provide enhancements to user experience, an update was in order.
Goals for the new site were to better use photography to show the joy of learning and depth of programming at CA—telling the school’s story through compelling imagery. The photos are larger and more abundant, and they exemplify the Colorado Academy experience.
Another goal was to share voices from the student experience. A new feature, called Meet A Mustang, highlights a dozen current students from Pre-K through Grade 12, and why they’re proud to attend CA. We will be adding profiles of new students regularly, as well as faculty and alumni.
The Our Campus page provides a profile and photo gallery of each of the buildings on campus, as well as other beloved spaces such as the Sculpture Garden and sports fields.
With the site launching the same school year as CA’s new mission statement, we made sure to prominently feature our mission and the important tenets that guide our work.
Those familiar with the previous CA site should find the expanded navigation bar—or mega navigation—is structured in largely the same way as the previous design, providing intuitive navigation throughout the site.
To keep the site fresh with new content, Colorado Academy News has more prominent placement near the top of the homepage, along with CA social media updates. Readers will also find a feed of the latest news stories on the mega navigation, by hovering on “News.” The Colorado Academy News site is still the most complete source for all the latest articles and faculty blogs, and news content will continue to be pulled into many pages of the new CA website based on topic.
Current parents should find the CA Now link to be a helpful resource, featuring quick links to a variety of forms, guides, handbooks, links, and more. Additionally, there are lunch menus, the online faculty directory, direct links to resource boards, and calendars.
Again, the secure, password-protected side of the website is not affected by this redesign.
look for your protected information as a CA parent behind the Login link—found in the upper-right corner of most pages or lower-left corner on the homepage and landing pages.
