In the 62nd running of the Giant Relay Race, Colorado Academy’s Class of 2019 captured the trophy, thanks to a phenomenal final dash by Conner Brook, who successfully held off a strong challenge from the Parent Team.
In contrast to the 2018 race which took place on a brutally hot day, this year’s competitors ran, swam, cycled, hopped, and kayaked on a perfect Colorado spring day, with bluebird skies and a perfect slight wind.
In a close race, CA Seniors crossed the finish line with a time of 7:30:30, beating the Parent Team by only two seconds. Faculty and staff came in third, 19 seconds behind the Seniors, and the Alumni Team proudly finished.
In the mini-relay, CA Eighth Graders took first place in the Middle School with a time of 1:56:00, and CA Juniors took first place in the Upper School with a time of 1:52:95.
