Exploring San Sebastián

Colorado Academy students spend the day kayaking in San Sebastián.Yesterday we took a break from the itinerary to relax and recuperate. Instead of continuing our walk to the next hostel we stayed in San Sebastián until later. A few of us went to the beach while the rest of us went to the market to get food for lunch. After a picnic on the beach, we split up into groups. Some of us went ocean kayaking, some of us stayed at the beach, and the rest shopped and explored San Sebastián.

At 4, we left and drove to our new hostel in Zarautz, a coastal town located in the province of Gipuzkoa in the Basque Country. In Zarautz, we walked around the town and saw a festival in one of the main plazas. Later, we went to a photo museum. There, we learned a lot about the history of photography and got to see old photo equipment.

In the evening, we went to dinner at a traditional Basque restaurant at the Musika Plaza. We ate pechuga de pollo, filete de carne, ensalada, croquetas and brazo de gitano for dessert. To finish the night we did some night photography along the beach and in the town. Today we continue along the Camino to Zumaia.
